The National Stud is the showcase for British Thoroughbred breeding. It comprises over 500 acres of prime pastureland on the edge of Newmarket, headquarters of racing in the UK. Its facilities include accommodation for eight stallions and up to 200 mares in nine separate yards.
There is a very nice menu at the Wavertree Coffee Shop with jackets,sausage and mash,salads,lasagne etc. for between £5-6.We shall take food bookings in advance.

leave Kempston 9.am and Bedford 9.15am. Have tea/coffee there about 11am and a tour in their bus with guide at 11.30. Coach tour lasts about 75minutes.
