Painting and Sketching Group 1
The Painting and Sketching Group 1 meets every Wednesday between 2.00 and 4.00 pm at the Athletics Club. We choose our own subjects to draw and paint and the media we use varies from water colours, acrylics and pastels to mixed media. (Here is a recent photo of some of us painting at the Athletics Club.) During our tea break we wander to other tables to chat and to look at other people’s work. There is no tuition as such, but we share our knowledge and help each other. We get lots of inspiration from seeing each others drawings and paintings.
During the months of July to August we meet outdoors at various venues around Bedford to sketch and paint. (Here is a photo of two members painting at Harrold Country Park.)
In April this year we invited the Painting and Sketching Group 2 to join us and Celia Maddeson gave us a watercolour painting demonstration. (Here is a photo of group members watching the demonstration.) In the future we hope to watch some DVDs at the Athletics Club showing painting techniques to those who are interested.
Occasionally we exhibit our paintings and you will be able to see some of them on the 7th November at the Kempston East Methodist Church in Bedford Road.
We do not have a waiting list and anyone who would like to join us will be very welcome.
